The LOOP Opti 160 fly box is robust and universal in the sense that it is suitable for practically all flies, whatever their size.

The inside of the box is covered with a grooved rubbery material to form bars, which have slots in which the flies are fixed. Instead of sticking the hooks in a foam, which inevitably destroys the foam in the long run, we slip each hook into a slot. The material is quite hard, which makes the fly hold very well in place.

Each side has a plate with 145 slots. In total, the box can therefore contain a maximum of 290 flies. A maximum, because it obviously depends on the size of the flies you put in it. As the box is quite deep, nothing prevents it from being used to store salmon flies, and not just nymphs for trout.

The box is kept closed by magnets. When closed, it is waterproof. Tip: the box has, in the thickness of its hinge, an airy compartment intended to receive the flies that have just been used, in order to dry them there. Another tip: still in the thickness of this hinge, is fixed a point which allows to unclog the eyelet of flies. Last tip: there is a hole in the handle to open the box, which can be used to tighten the knot when you want to tie a fly to a fairly strong leader point.
